Brazil expresses worry about
tension in Israel, occupied
territories
Brazil expressed worries Friday
about the escalating violence in
Israel and the Gaza Strip in
recent days, which killed
several civilians, including a
Brazilian-Israeli.
"The Brazilian government calls
on all the parties involved to
avoid taking any step to" harm
the preparations underway for
the removal of the Israeli armed
forces from the Gaza Strip, the
pullout of the Jewish
settlements and the settlements'
transfer tothe administration of
the Palestine National Authority
(PNA) due in August, said the
Brazilian Foreign Ministry in a
statement.
Dana Galkowicz, the daughter of
a Brazilian man and an Argentine
woman was killed Thursday in the
Israeli city of Netiv Ha Asara
in a missile attack.
The attack, claimed by Hamas,
broke the truce reached in
late-January between the PNA and
Israel.
On Friday, Israel killed seven
Hamas militiamen in air attacks
in retaliation.
