La Uruca Road Closing Advisory
To avoid the traffic congestion of 10 days ago, the Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (CONAVI), announced yesterday that it will be closing the other side of the bridge at the Monumento del Agua (Water Monument) in La Uruca.

This time, the work will be carried out on the other side of the bridge, which is in a bad state of repair, come Friday night and will continue until Monday morning.

The bridge that moves traffic from La Uruca to Pavas will not be completely closed off as it was 10 days ago.

When work commenced on the south side of the bridge, the entire bridge was closed off, choking all traffic in the area. The problem became a nightmare for many drivers when the work was delayed and the bridge re-opened on Tuesday afternoon instead of Monday morning.

No announcement was made and many drivers were surprised that their normal route was closed and were detoured, adding up to two hours of travel time during morning and afternoon rush hours.

In addition, the CONAVI also announced the closing of one lane of the Próspero Fernández highway in the San José - Santa Ana direction on Friday and Saturday.
