Export Goals
The Ministry of Foreign Trade
and the Foreign Commerce
Promoter (PROCOMER) challenged
Costa Rica to increase exports
to us$16 billion by the year 2015.
Before attaining that goal, the
country must first reach us$11
billion in exports by the year
2010.
Last year, the overall
exports of goods amounted to
us$6.3 billion, according to PROCOMER.
Minister of Foreign
Trade Manuel Gonzalez and PROCOMER manager Martin Zuniga
explained that it is highly
important to set a goal for
exports, because it helps
defining what country is wanted
from now to the year 2015. It
also helps to define and orient
the national development goals,
they added.
