Wanted Sex Offender
Captured in Guanacaste
One of the men most wanted by
the United States Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI), was
captured in Costa Rica by the
Costa Rican Dirección de
Inteligencia y Seguridad
Nacional (DIS) and INTERPOL, in
co-ordination with the Organismo
de Investigación Judicial (OIJ)
in Playa Flamingo, Guanacaste.
Sixty five year old James Allen
Colwell, has been on the FBI's
most wanted list for over 3
years, following his evasion of
a 30 year sentence in Wisconsin
for the abuse of minors.
Allen was convicted for having
sexual relations with boys under
the age of 13 and was known as a
"sexual predator".
The fugitive operated a real
estate business in Flamingo and
now faces the process of
extradition back to the United
States.
In other news, another U.S.
fugitive, Brett K. Curie, was
extradited yesterday following
his capture in Tronadora,
Tilarán, wanted for fraud and
theft, according to the DIS
office.
