Light Festival Was A 10!
Last nights "Festival de la Luz" (Light Festival) earned a 10, according to thousands on hand to enjoy what is being called the most orderly festival ever. The weather was excellent, the floats and music kept the spectators entertained.

This year was the 10th Festival, an event that is now expected every year and becoming a tradition.

The Festival began at 6:10pm (10 minutes late). But by 5pm and earlier, Paseo Colon was already jammed with spectators. Police and Festival officials had closed off Paseo Colon earlier in the day to make way for the parade that moved from Parque La Sabana in front of La Universal and moved along Paseo Colon and Avenida Segunda.

Fireworks, illuminating displays, costumes and music filled the night, kicked off by this year's parade marshal, the musical group Editus. Music bands and cheerleaders made sure that spectators were animated in between floats.

The Festival ended at 8:30pm when the last float by the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social made it way.

But it was the children who stole the night, with their smiles and astonished faces with the passing of each float.
