Siamese Twins Exptected to Be
Born Today
Doctors at the Hospital México
say the Siamese twins are
expected to be born today and
since they don't share any vital
organs and don't pose a risk to
themselves and to the mother.
This is not the first case of
Siamese twins in Costa Rica. The
last was in April of 2002 when
two little girls were born
sharing a heart, dieing five
months later. A similar
situation occurred in 1998 and
1997.
One of the most remembered cases
of Siamese twins was of Maria
Teresa and Maria de Jesús born
attached at the head in 2002 in
Guatemala. The twins travelled
to the United States where
doctors were able to
successfully separated.
