Italian Fugitive Caught
An joint investigation by the
International Police (Interpol),
the Costa Rican DIS and the
Organismo de Investigación
Judicial (OIJ) de Cóbano,
Puntarenas put an end to freedom
of Italian fugitive, Elio
Migliorini.
The Italian is wanted in Verona,
Italy, for the sale of large
quantities of drugs (heroin,
cocaine and morphine) and has a
30 year sentence waiting for him
on his return.
Authorities say Migliorini
operated two restaurants in
Costa Rica - one in Atenas and
the other in Malpais - two area
largely visited by European
tourists and could get from
Migliorini more than an italian
meal.
In addition to the Verona court,
Migliorini is also wanted in
Venice.
The Italian decided to skip his
country and head for "paradise"
where many international figures
come to hide out and one only
needs "dinero" to live
peacefully. Well, until the long
arm of the law reaches out, that
is.
