Get Used to Carrying An
Umbrella, Says the Weatherman
Yesterday afternoon's downpour
took many by surprise. This is
the summer or "dry" season,
until the first week of May at
least, and it is not supposed to
rain.
The Instituto Meteorológico
Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman
- says that as the "rainy"
season approaches, there will be
more frequent rain and showers
in the afternoon in the coming
weeks and suggests that we get
used to carrying umbrellas
again.
Yesterday's downpour wasn't
isolated. It rained from Cartago
to Alajuela and though the rain
wasn't heavy, it was accompanied
by electrical storms in some
parts.
The weatherman explains that
yesterday's rain was caused by
humid winds coming off the
Pacific, hitting the hot air
caused from the strong sun in
the morning.
And, it may rain again today!
