Intel's Financial Center
Intel plans to open a financial
services hub in Costa Rica next
year, which will concentrate all
of the accounting operations of
the corporation in the
continent, including the United
States.
Intel will start hiring
some 100 accountants and
business administrators later
this year, and will train them
for the activities, which will
develop progressively.
"We
expect operations to start
between late this year and April
2006," said Gabriela Llobet,
Intel's Corporate Relations
manager here.
She added that the
corporation has been operating a
similar facility in Malaysia for
two years, and that it is in
charge of the financial
operations in Asia.
The decision
to establish the center in Costa
Rica was made after anlayzing
several U.S. and Latin American
cities, the source explained.
