Venezuela offers gesture for reconciliation
with US
The Venezuelan government on
Thursday said it gave a gesture for reconciliation with the United
States, local media reported.
There have been some contacts between the United States and Venezuela
over the past weeks, according to Communication and Information Minister
Andres Izarra.
Izarra said Venezuela has given a "cordial gesture" toward the United
States recently, noting his government expressed the hope for fruitful
relations with mutual respect between Caracas and Washington.
Last Wednesday, William Brownfield, US ambassador to Venezuela, said
Washington expected Venezuela to keep on supplying petroleum to the
United States.
