"Pelear es una bestia. Como Bush", Were The
Words of Santana
The Ricardo Saprissa stadium, in Tibás, was invaded last night by
thousands just to see legendary guitarist Carlos Santana perform his
magic live.
The last time Carlos Santana performed in Costa Rica was 32 years ago in
the small area of the Ginmasio Nacional in La Sabana park.
Last night's performance was highlighted by Santana's classics like "Samab
pa'ti", "Black Magic Woman", along with his newer tunes of "Corazon
Espinado".
The show was set to begin at 7pm, but it wasn't until 8pm that Carlos
Santana and his band took to the stage, opening with a 10 minute
rendition of "Soul Sacrifice".
Santana spoke to his audience, in Spanish, gave his respect to Pope John
Paul II, "aun no soy Catolica" (though I am not Catholic).
Santana, speaking to an audience filled with emotion and applause, asked
them to join him in his fight for world peace and stop the fighting. "Pelear
es una bestia. Como Bush" (Fighting is a beast. Like Bush), were the
words of the musician.
