Solar Eclipse Not To Be Visible in Central
Valley
According to the Instituto
Meteorológico Nacional (weatherman) forecast, the solar eclipse for
tomorrow will not be visible in Costa Rica.
The weatherman is predicting that 94% of San José will be under cloud
cover tomorrow afternoon and will obscure vision. However, in places
like Punta Barica and the Pacific north areas, the view will be
un-obscured.
The solar eclipse is to begin over Costa Rica around 2:50pm, with
maximum intensity at 4:10pm and be over by 5:18pm, according to experts.
In the Central Valley (San José and surrounding areas) clouds are
expected to fill the afternoon skies, leaving little chance of viewing
the eclipse.
The clouding over of the Central valley is typical for this time of
year, according to the weatherman, as we move from the "dry" or summer
season to the "rainy" season.
