One dead, one injured in bomb attack in
Colombia
An explosive device went off
Tuesday morning near a gambling house in downtown Bogota, leaving one
dead and another injured, authorities said.
The bombing took place right after midnight when there were few people
in the area.
Two homeless people were injured and one of them died later in hospital,
said the public prosecutor's office.
The explosion also damaged the nearby department of the public
prosecutor's office in charge of solving family problems.
Police arrested a suspect near the scene, but it was not clear if the
suspect is linked to guerrilla groups, which are often blamed for bomb
attacks in Colombia.
Local radio reports said taxi drivers near the spot saw a suspect
hurling the explosive device and helped police reach him. But police did
not confirm the version.
