Israel-Latin America Economic Seminar
Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Israel-Latin American Chamber of Commerce, convened an economic seminar on March 29 at the Sheraton Hotel in Tel Aviv on the prospects of trade with Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras - as well as the possibilities of the integration of Israeli companies in regional projects, within the framework of the PPP (Puebla Panama Plan).

The Puebla Panama Plan includes, among other things, joint regional development in diverse areas, such as infrastructures, communications, health, and funding by regional banks such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the Central American Bank. Tenders are now being established for projects in all areas that offer possibilities for the integration of Israeli companies.

In addition, there was a review of the economic opportunities that existed in the countries of the region, following the signing of a free trade agreement between these countries and the United States. The ratification of the agreement is expected to take place in the coming months, with the prospect of a considerable rise in investments in these countries.

The seminar was held with the aim of giving expression to the close ties with the aforementioned countries of Central America. Two of the above countries are the only ones in the international community to maintain an embassy in Jerusalem.
