Mass To Say Goodbye to Pope John Paul II
On Thursday April 7 10am, a mass will be celebrated at the Catedral
Metropolitana in San José to say goodbye to Pope John Paul II, a day
before the funeral for the Pope that will be held in Rome . which is
scheduled for Friday.
The mass will be presided by the Archbishop of San José, Monseñor Hugo
Barrantes Ureña, and is expected to be attended by high level government
officials, court justices as members of the Legislative Assembly, as
well as the general public.
President Abel Pacheco will be absent from Thursday's mass, as he will
be in Rome to attend the Pope's funeral and pay his respects to the Pope
personally and on behalf of the Costa Rican people.
