Red Alert For Guanacaste
The heavy rain began
falling on Sunday and
today, Thursday, it is
still pouring on most
areas of the Central
Valley, Central Pacific
coast and Guanacaste,
forcing the Comisión
Nacional de Emergencias
(CNE) - national
emergency commission -
to increase the Red
Alert to 30 cantones
around the country.
TLC Approval Continues
On The Slow Track
Despite the accusations
against opposition
legislators by Casa
Presidencial, for the
alleged obstacle course
against the approval of
the last law required
for the approval of the
Tratado Libre de
Comercio (TLC) - free
trade agreement with the
United States - the
absence of 15
legislators allied to
the government did not
allow its approval
yesterday.
Costa Rica Opens Trade
Office in Panama
Following the approval
of the free trade
agreement with Panama,
Costa Rica has opened a
foreign trade office in
Panama, opening a new
chapter in commerce
between the two
neighbouring countries.
Court Rejects Washed

colones lost a court
appeal to obtain the

Escazú Tool Booths
Closed Until May
As part of the
construction of the
highway to Caldera, the
autopista Próspero
Fernández is being
expanded to six lanes
from the present four
and as a consequence of
the construction work,
the toll booths at
Escazú have been
eliminated and will be
torn down, to pave the
way for a new tool
system.
Maribel Says "It's All
Natural"
At the age of 48, former
Miss Costa Rica, Maribel
Guardia, declares that
all she struts is
natural. "I like things
that you wear on your
face so you can see more
beautiful, but, I fear
going under the knife",
