garbage
piled up
on the
streets
of San
José,
many
blamed
the rain
for the
non
collection.
But, in
fact,
garbage
collectors
were on
strike,
demanding
past pay
for
overtime
and
repairs
to the
garbage
trucks.
The
strike
was over
yesterday
when the
Municipalidad
agrees
to the
workers
demands.

According to the Instituto Nacional de
Estadística y Censos (INEC) - national
statistics and census institute - the
cost of living in Costa Rica increased
by 0.7% during the month of August.
Bus Fare Hike Approved
