authorities in the face of a
growing problem that combines
youth and carelessness, placing
other drivers and pedestrians at
risk.
While the Policía de
Tránsito are out in full
force to reduce careless
driving and driving
under the influence
during the mid-year
holidays, nothin is
being done of the
dangers of bad roads
like the hole in the Abangares (Guanacaste)
bridge on the Inter

PUSC Desertions Follow The
Election of Fishman as Party
President
Following the election of Luis
Fishman as president of the
Partido Unidad Social Cristiana
(PUSC) a select group of party
members left the party assembly,
vowing never to return. The
reason: they are not happy with
the "Calderonista" movement to
place Fishman as head of the
party.
Economy Recovers
The economy of Costa Rica
presents a marked recovery. The
data to March this year – the
most recent fully available –
show a 6.8 percent increase
compared to the same period
ending in March 2005.
