Beginning today, Monday, the
Instituto Nacional de Seguros
(INS) begins to collect the 2006
Marchamo. The Marchamo is a
vehicles' circulation permit and
must be paid by December 31, or
face fines and possible
confiscation of the vehicle.
AyA Strike Will Continue as
AyA Fails to Sign Agreement
Notwithstanding that the strike
by the workers of the Acueductos
y Alcantarillados (AyA) that
began on October 10, was
declared illegal the Tribunales
de Trabajo (labour court), and
that and agreement was reached
late Friday by three labour
unions and the president of the
AyA, the workers say they will
continue the strike today,
Monday.

Phone: Danger At The Wheel
Driving and talking on a
cellular phone is contrary to
tránsito (traffic) regulations
but many continue to do so, and
according to Rodolfo Manjarréz,
of the Dirección General de la
Policía de Tránsito, this year
to day, Tránsito officials have
issued 7.234 fines for using a
cellular telephone while
driving.
