Tips, quick action by authorities leads to four arrests in execution-style killing in Parrita

October 21st, 2015 (ICR News) Quick action by authorities led to the Tuesday arrest of four suspects believed to be responsible for the weekend execution-style killing of a man whose body was found half buried on a beach in Parrita, Puntarenas.

Authorities discovered the remains of 33-year-old Herberth Parra Sáenz half buried in the sand on the beach in Palo Seco Sunday morning.  The victim’s hands and feet had been bound with electric wire and the remains were partially burned.  The victim had been shot multiple times.

Authorities on Tuesday arrested four men, aged 18, 22, 23, and 48 after receiving confidential information that led authorities to the suspects.

The Judicial Investigative Police (OIJ) said they were able to seize important evidence during five simultaneous raids on the suspects’ homes, and were even able to determine the location where the suspects attempted to burn the body before transporting it to the beach.

According to the Judicial Investigate Police (OIJ) the victim had a criminal history of robbery and assault, and revenge is suspected as a possible motive.
