Body of man killed execution-style found half-buried in Parrita beach

October 20th, 2015 (ICR News) The body of a man that was apparently killed execution-style was found half buried on a beach in Parrita, Puntarenas Sunday morning.

 

Authorities discovered the remains of 33-year-old Elver Iván Parra Sáenz buried in a shallow grave of sand on the beach in Isla Palo Seco in the canton of Parrita shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

 

The man had been shot multiple times, his hands bound with electrical wire and wrapped in plastic bags.

 

According to the Judicial Investigate Police (OIJ) the victim had a criminal history of robbery and assault and had been missing since Saturday.

 

Authorities had not identified any suspects as of Tuesday morning.

    I have met single Ticas that teach their children how to steal.
    This crime problem will grow until the young can find jobs. This is simple demographics and the act of survival for them. I do not feel sorry for them because we all have choices but I follow the trends.

      sorry, but people do not steal because they are poor, they steal because they are thieves. why do you need to insult the vast majority of poor people who are honest? there is no study anywhere that shows causation of dishonesty because of poverty. none. not ever. not one.

        There may or may not exist any study to prove your comment but allow me to give you an anecdotal example to extrapolate how “basic need” can turn an otherwise honest person sideways: lost in wooded area, come upon a vacant cabin, force the door, open a can of beans from the cupboard and consume to ease the gnawing hunger pain. Now rightly, I leave $5 and a “sorry” note behind on the table–but what if I didn’t have any money (if we become what the government would love, a cashless society–a probability)? Does this scenario make me a thief, even if a justified one?

        Back to the topic of article, however. The victim was a malcreante so maybe his killing was street justice. Society is surely falling apart morally.
