June 8th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) A U.S. citizen who’s identity has not been officially released remained missing early Monday morning after disappearing into the waters of Jaco Beach on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast on Saturday.
The missing man is said to be in his 30’s and was accompanied in the water by another U.S. citizen in his late 20’s who was rescued alive. It is believed the missing man fell victim to a strong undercurrent or riptide. The Costa Rican Red Cross and the Costa Rican Coast Guard are continuing the search.
A California man, 33-year-old Ibrahim Sam Karadsheh, lost his life at the same beach last month after a powerful riptide swept the man at least two nautical miles offshore.
