Drivers stuck on Route 32 after landslides forced to sleep in their cars; route finally reopened

December 9th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Road crews were finally able to clear Route 32, the main highway between San Jose and Limon, on Monday, after scores of drivers stuck between multiple landslides that blocked the highway were forced to sleep in their cars Sunday night.

 

At least three separate landslides had blocked the highway for some 16 hours since Sunday night.

 

Authorities were able to clear the debris and reopen the highway around 11 a.m. on Monday.  However, authorities are urging motorists to be vigilant as continuing rains pose the risk of additional landslides.

    Why should we be Vigilant? Let the Costa Rica Road Engineers and the Government be Vigilant in fixing these roads. They have the money in their Bank accounts, get it out and pay to fix and make Ecuador quality roads. It is absurd that this country has the worst roads in all Central America and has a lot of the tourism, export taxes, import taxes, gas taxes, airport taxes and 15% on everything we purchase.
    Costa Rica you get Vigilant and make better roads.
