May 21st, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The Public Ministry reported yesterday that prosecutors are awaiting the results of a blood test that was given to Deputy Director Torres of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS), who was arrested Sunday evening in Escazu on suspicion of reckless driving after colliding with several stopped vehicles.
Torres was given a blood test at a clinic following his arrest, as he refused to take a Breathalyzer test at the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the official seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. Torres was questioned Sunday evening after his arrest, before being released.
If the blood test comes back positive, a hearing will be held to determine if Torres should face charges.
