Panama Prepares July 1 Inauguration
Panama - Panamanian authorities are preparing the
induction of president elect Ricardo Martinelli on July 1, informed official
sources.
According to Foreign Affairs Ministry press
director, Jaime Aparicio, attendance has
been confirmed of nine heads of state, three
ministers, 10 special mission ambassadors
and 15 representatives of international
organization.
Presidents of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, of
Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, of Mexico Felipe
Calderon, of Paraguay Fernando Lugo, of
Guatemala, Alvaro Colom, of El Salvador,
Maruicio Funes, of the Democratic Saharan
Arab Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz and Jose
Manuel Zelaya of Honduras will be present.
Participation will include the vice
president of Peru, Lourdes Mendoza as well
as chancellors of Canada, Lawrence Cannon
and Ecuador, Fander Falcon as well as the
Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbon.
Cyprus, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Denmark, Qatar,
Egypt, Uruguay, Vietnam, Belgium and Finland
will send plenipotentiary ambassadors on
special missions.
Participation has also been confirmed from
institutions such as the International
Federation of the Red Cross and Red Half
Moon, Ibero American secretary general and
United Nations agencies.
To broadcast the activities 516 media
professionals of social communication that
include journalists, commentators,
correspondents, camera operators and
national and international photographers
have been accredited. |
