Costa Ricans Reject Honduras Coup Leader
Social and human right associations
made public their rejection to the visit of
Honduras coup leader Roberto Micheletti to
Costa Rica, to participate in the scheduled
mediation with President Oscar Arias.
Micheletti is not welcomed in this country
because he is a dictator and this nation
does not receive tyrannical leaders, Sonia
Soliz from Frente Amplio said.
Peace and Justice Service and the Center for
Justice and International Law convened a
massive demonstration on Thursday night in
the surrounding areas of the House of the
Costa Rican President to protest the coup in
Honduras.
The residence of Arias will receive those
participants in the meeting in which a
delegation of the Honduran constitutional
government led by Manuel Zelaya will also
attend, in an attempt to solve the crisis
created after the coup on June 28.
Coup protesters hope to get as closer as
they can to the place of the mediation
dialogue, despite the strong police
presence, to condemn the violation of human
rights committed by the de-facto regime. |
