Brazil To Construct 200
Sports Centres In Two Years
Brasilia - Brazil plans to build 200
sports centres by the end of 2010, announced Brazilian minister of
Sports, Orlando Silva, on Tuesday.
These sports centres will be built in the outskirts of major urban
centers, primarily in areas with high levels of social risk, he
said.
Each centre will have a space of about 8,000 square meters with a
covered gym, track field, trails for walking and skating, living
centres for seniors and administrative space. The gym is designed to
also house events such as meetings and cultural activities, with a
mini-theater.
According to him, each complex will cost around 750,000 U.S. dollars
and 100 will be built in 2009 and 100 more in 2010. |
