 Colombian, Paraguayan Presidents Issue Joint Declaration
 BOGOTA - Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and his Paraguayan counterpart Fernando Lugo issued a join declaration Monday on such issue as security, drug trafficking and cooperation, during Lugo's official visit to Bogota.

During their meeting Monday at the government headquarters in Narino House, the two leaders discussed bilateral agreements aimed at widening information exchange and strategies to combat terrorism threats and drug trafficking in the region.

They said their governments are ready to "strength the cooperation, communication and information mechanisms," while urging that the already existing bilateral mechanism be continued in order to move forward on the fight against terrorism and drug-related crimes.

The Paraguayan president arrived in the Colombian capital Sunday for a 24-hour visit to sign bilateral cooperation agreements.
