 Panamanians to Protest for Better Salaries
 PANAMA - Social organizations from Panama are planning more demonstrations for better salaries and against the rising cost of living in the Central American country.

Protests are scheduled for Sep. 15 in preparation of a national strike, the National Front for the Defense of Economic and Social Rights warned.

On Sep 17, they will also protest before General Attorney’s office for calling off an investigation on the 2006 food poisoning case that claimed the lives of hundreds of Panamanians.

Social organizations will present a bill before Parliament seeking a general salary rise and the freezing or reduction of all basic product prices.

On Sep 20, they will meet again to set the date and duration of the upcoming national strike.
