LAPT Begins Second
Season In Costa Rica
The PokerStars Latin
American Poker Tour had
a very successful first
year, and organizers are
hoping to keep the
momentum going as Season
2 starts up in San José,
Costa Rica in November
with a us$1 million
guaranteed prize pool.
The first event of the
second season is
scheduled to take place
at the Ramada Plaza,
Herradura Conference
Centre in San José Nov.
3-5. Along with a new
season comes a change or
two as well.
This time around the
LAPT is boosting the
buy-ins up to us$3,700
for each stop, and then
the championship event
at the end of the season
will have a us$5,200
buy-in.
Last year, the San José
tournament brought in a
field of 398 players,
many of whom won their
way into the tournament
via qualifiers on
PokerStars. One of those
qualifiers was Valdemar
Kwaysser, who ended up
winning the event to
take home a us$274,103
top prize.
