Boat Seized With 800 Kg
of Cocaine
Costa Rican authorities
have seized another boat
off its coast, this one
loaded with 800 Kilos of
cocaine.
Gerardo Láscarez,
viceministro de
Seguridad Pública,
explained that his
officials had suspected
the boat was being used
to transport illegal
drugs and once located,
the boat, the owner of
the boat, the captain
and the crew of three,
were all detained.
The boar went under the
name "Astec" and is
registered in Panama.
The men are now in the
hands of the Ministerio
Público who will be
seeking preventive
detention while
authorities continue
their investigation.
