Dollar Reserves Decrease
The Central Bank’s
dollar reserves dropped
us$706 million from
April through July 18th.
They are now at us$4.23
billion, an amount that
suffices to cover four
months of regular
imports.
Central Bank chairman
Francisco Gutierrez
explained that the
decrease results from
several factors, ranging
from the deposits made
by finance
intermediaries to the
Bank’s intervention in
the exchange market.
