Five Men Found Murdered In Garbage Dump
The discovery of the bodies of five men, face down with hands tied behind their backs and with each a shot to the head at close range has Costa Rican and Panamanian authorities working at maximum in an unprecedented case in Costa Rica.

The find was made in area known as "Tajo del amor" Fila de Cal, 2 kilometres from the centre of Ciudad Neily, in the cantón de Corredores, Puntarenas.

Costa Rican authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the men which are believed to be all foreigners, possibly Panamanians or Colombians and victims of a settling of a score.

The director of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), Jorge Rojas, sent a specialized team from San José to investigate the multiple murder close to the highway that leads to San Vito de Coto Brus near the Panamanian border.

The bodies were found after police received a call to the 911 emergency service by an indigent of the area who was looking for garbage to recycle, according to the head of the Fuerza Pública of the area. The area were the bodies were found is also a clandestine garbage dump for the area.

According to early reports, it is believed that the men were executed around 10:00am, a resident telling police that she heard gunshots around that time. The 911 call came in hours later.

Authorities believe that the murder was related to a drug haul in the area last December.

Director Rojas said in a press conference yesterday that there are a number of other murders in the area tied to yesterday's, supporting the theory that are all part of a settling of scores related to illegal drugs and over payments.
