"Muni" Passes Health Inspection
According to the ministra de Salud (Health minister), María Luisa Ávila, the "Muni" passed the test.

Salud issued an ultimatum to the Municipalidad de San José last week to pick up the garbage piling up on the city's streets withing five days or face consequences.

San José mayor, Johnny Araya, said that it would be impossible to collect all the garbage within the time set by Salud and that work crews would be working overtime, including weekends, to do their best.

An inspection by health officials yesterday of the areas of Zapote, barrio Cuba, San Francisco, San Sebastián, barrio Esclanate, barrio México and San José centre satisfied inspectors.

Eugenio Androvetto, a Ministerio de Salud engineer, said that the Hatillos and Pavas still had garbage piled up, but that was due to the fact that Monday was garbage collection day in those areas.

Notwithsanding, Salud officials will be out today for another inspection.
