Nicaragua to Host Meeting on Food Rights
The right to food will be the main topic of a Latin American workshop that will begin here on January 21, according to the FAO office in Nicaragua.

The UN agency noted that since 2001, FAO's Right to Food Unit in Rome has made efforts to spread information on the relevance of that right, as well as on the creation and strengthening of networks to exercise it.

The group is working on facilitating the enactment of laws within the framework of the Right to Food for the countries that still lack a legislation in that regard, said the document released to the media.

The workshop is aimed at presenting the legislative achievements regarding the Right to Food, both in Nicaragua and in the countries of the region.
