Quintavalle Continues In Conditional Liberty
Italian businessman, Matteo Quintavalle, accused of defrauding his American investors, will continue to be free on conditions, according to a decision yesterday by judge Ericka Chaves, of the Juzgado Penal de Pavas.

The Tribunal Penal de San José asked the Pavas court to continue the conditional release.

The Italian will be required to sign in at the court every fifteen days, has to have a fixed residential address, cannot leave the country and is prohibited from contacting his accusers and witnesses.

Quintavalle was released from the Unidad de Admisión de San Sebastián (San José jail) because of his health, the court explaining that he could take of his health much better outside of jail.

Carlos Ayón, lawyer for the investors accusing Quintavalle said yesterday that he would be appealing the judges order to conditional release.

Quintavalle, on leaving the Pavas court house, said he was in good health since he has been out of jail.

The court press office informed that it had cancelled a preliminary hearing that was to take place between Quintavalle and investors at the San José tribunals due to the fact the businessman and the investors have yet to reach an agreement on the amount and form of repayment.
