Tabloid Ordered To Compensate Legislator
The La Teja, Costa Rica's version of a supermarket tabloid published by La Nación, was ordered by the Tribunal de Juicio del Segundo Circuito Judicial de San José, to pay Bienvenido Venegas Porras, a legislator for the Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC), damages and costs.

The court ordered the daily, which regularly publishes scandals and gossips, to pay the legislator ˘10 million colones for damages and ˘2 million colones for coss, plus a ˘600.000 colones fine or 60 days jail.

La Teja was accused of publishing a photo of Venegas that was a composite that injured his image and reputation.
