Morales Calls on
Soldiers to Defend Unity
COCHABAMBA -
Bolivian President Evo
Morales called on
members of the armed
forces to defend
national unity, which is
the core of the current
process of changes.
In a ceremony on
occasion of the 108th
anniversary of the
Maximiliano Paredes
Sergeant School in
Cochabamba, Morales said
a demonstration of this
objective was the active
role played by the
soldiers in hydrocarbon
nationalization.
He explained that since
January 2006, the
Executive has emphasized
on strategies to dignify
the Bolivian people,
including the attention
to the needs of military
institutions.
The president called on
graduates to be examples
of dedication to the
defense of the country’s
sovereignty and
territorial integrity.
Morales also announced
the approval of
investments worth $600
million to construct new
facilities for sergeant
training, including an
entity in Cochabamba to
protect the future seat
of the South American
Parliament.
To work in coordination
with commanders,
thinking about the
homeland above all, is
the best piece of advice
we should give on a day
like this. |
