Billboard Urges Start Of Trial Of Former President Calderón
Friends of former Costa Rican president, Rafael Ángel Calderón, has gotten tired of waiting around to get his day in court that he decided to purchase space on a billboard to remind the country of the travesty that their friend is living.

Calderón has been waiting for four years waiting for a trial, a trial that he is sure that will prove his innocence.

In the meantime, the former president is on conditional release and has been vocal asking authorities to get the trial going.

Calderón said that the billboards were paid by a group of friends who are as anxious as he is to get this all behind them and are clear of his innocence and of the persecution of him by Judicial authorities.

Calderón governed between 1990 and 1994 and is currently under indictment for corruption for his involvement in the Caja-Fischel scandal, where he is alleged to have received monies for his influence in a multi million dollar loan by the government of Finland to the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social, brokered by the Fischel pharmacy chain.

Also waiting for years for his day in court is former president, Miguel Ángel Rodriguez, who is accused in the ICE-Alcatel bribery scandal.
