Gasoline Prices On They Way Up Again
Even though the latest round of gasoline price increases has yet to hit the pumps, the national refinery, RECOPE, has applied for an increase.

RECOPE asked the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) for an increase of ¢18 colones for a litre of super, ¢14 colones for regular and ¢28 colones for diesel.

The price increase, when approved, will take effect in May after the approval is published in the official government publication, La Gaceta.

This coming week, last months price increase is expected to be published and to take effect no later than next Saturday.

RECOPE says the push up for prices is to to the increase of crude oil on international markets which reached us$112 a barrel on Wednesday.

The current price for a litre of super is ¢565 colones, regular ¢553 and diesel ¢511.
