Former President Clinton
Asks Costa Ricans To
Vote "Si"
Former U.S. president,
Bill Clinton, is asking
Costa Ricans to vote in
favour of the Tratado de
Libre Comercio (TLC) -
free trade agreement
with the United States.
Clinton offered his
opinion during the third
annual Clinton Global
Initiative meeting held
at Carnegie Hall.
Clinton said that the
free trade agreement is
a way for Costa Rica to
enter the North American
marked without hurdles,
and unless there is
direct evidence of any
specific damages, it
should take advantage of
the opportunity.
Clinton added that he is
not aware of the
specifics of the
documents.
The former president
during his speech
praised Costa Rica and
described it as an
amazing country and the
first country to be
committed to the
environment.
Costa Ricans will be
voting for or against
the trade deal on the
October 7 referendum.
