Hemorrhagic Dengue
Kills Ten in Honduras
Honduras health
authorities fear the
latest death registered
be caused by hemorrhagic
dengue fever, just as
the government was
celebrating a decrease
in the propagation of
the disease.
The Hospital Escuela in
the capital reported the
death of a 15 year-old
young man, who entered
the Hospital on
Wednesday, with dengue
fever symptoms and who
died Monday night, as
his condition got worst.
According to Hospital
Escuela Director Juan
Barahona, "it seems he
was infected with
hemorrhagic dengue ".
The victim, not
identified by the
Institution, would be
registered as the tenth
Honduran death by this
dengue type, for which
the Certification
Committee will issue a
confirmation or denial.
To date, the Health
Secretariat has
registered 18,192 cases
of classic dengue, 823
of hemorrhagic type and
nine deaths. |
