Tourism Job Fair To Be Held in Liberia

Tourism Job Fair To Be Held in Liberia
Looking for work? Want to live and work at the beach? Then mark your calendar for on September 7 and 8, some 40 tourism companies will be holding a job fair looking to fill 1.158 jobs in the tourism sector.

The job fair is being organized by the Asociación Costarricense de Profesionales en Turismo (Acoprot).

The job fair will be held in Liberia and will be comprised of tourism operators, hotels, transportation services, including car rental companies and airlines.

Speaking English is very important as almost 60% of the jobs to be filled required knowledge of English and other language other than Spanish.

Preference will be given to those living in the area in an attempt to reduce unemployment and investment in transferring employees from the Central Valley and other urban areas.

The 2005 job fair in Liberia was attended by some 3.000 people looking to fill 568 jobs. Organizers say they expect more people this year.

Tourism is the main economic drive behind Costa Rica that is expecting some 1.7 million visitors for this year.

The Pacific northern region has seen the greatest increase in tourism.
