Panama Eliminated in
U-20 World Cup
Costa Rica, Panama and
the hosts Canada were
all eliminated from the
2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup
over the weekend.
Panama lost a 2:1
encounter to the Czech
Republic in the final
match of Group E at the
Le Stade Olympique in
Montreal, Quebec on 6
July, while Canada were
beaten by a score of 2:0
to Congo in the last
Group A match at the
Commonwealth Stadium in
Edmonton, Alberta on 8
July.
Elsewhere, Costa Rica
defeated Scotland 2:1 to
conclude Group F at the
Swangard Stadium in
Burnaby, British
Columbia on 7 July, but
the victory wasn’t
enough as the ticos were
unable to secure a place
in the ‘Round-of-16’ of
the FIFA U-20 World Cup
Canada 2007 as one of
the four best
third-place finishers. |
