CARICOM - Central America for
Trade Deal
Guatemalan Foreign Minister Gert
Rosenthal has informed of a
possible free trade deal between
Central America and the
Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
Friday, in declarations to the
media after attending a
ministerial meeting of the
Association of Caribbean States
(ACS) in Guatemala, Rosenthal
said that the encounter among
Central American Economy and
CARICOM Trade ministers is
scheduled for February 22.
For his part, ACS Secretary
General Ruben Arturo Silie
announced they are studying an
agreement to boost and protect
investments for Caribbean
nations.
Besides trade and investments,
the ACS ministerial gathering
tackled the entity s
administrative and budgetary
reform, sustainable tourism and
cooperation in disasters.
Likewise, regional ministers
analyzed a transport deal to
facilitate airline operations of
ACS members.
