Central America Moves on
Migration Issues
The 15th Extraordinary Meeting
of the Central American
Commission of Migration
Directors held in Honduras moved
towards a common agenda that
will allow the countries of the
area to have similar tools of
territorial deployment.
The authorities of the regional
countries of Mexico and the
Dominican Republic analyzed the
protection measures to
strengthen cooperation in this
area.
They also debated the future
validity of a single visa system
between Honduras, Nicaragua, El
Salvador and Guatemala, which
group is called CA-4.
The Honduran director of
migration German Espinal assured
that joint initiatives were
discussed at the event to
protect the people without
identification papers.
"We want to guarantee safe
return and fair treatment of
human rights of citizens
arrested in other countries,"
affirmed Espinal.
The meeting also examined the
advances regarding the documents
necessary for the implementation
of the single visa CA-4 soon.
