Ecological Bridges
The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) - Costa Rican Power and Telecommunications Institution - is placing “bridges” that enable animals such as monkeys and sloths, among others, to move from one tree to another over roads, in order to prevent their being run over by vehicles or receiving lethal electrical shocks when trying to cross over power lines.

The ecological bridges already placed in southern Costa Rica have proven successful and wild animals soon start using them.
