Venezuela, Argentina Fully
Collaborate
The signing of 17 accords
between Argentina and Venezuela,
in energy, finances and health,
are Thursday a solid support to
economic collaboration and union
in the region.
Argentina's President Nestor
Kirchner's recent visit to
Venezuela has strengthened these
bilateral links, which include
the creation of bases for the
development of important
financial institutions.
As for hydrocarbons, both
statesmen analyzed the supply of
fuel oil to Energia Argentina
S.A. Company, while that entity
made some forays with the state
Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. into
the prospecting of crude oil in
the Orinoco Strip.
A larger presence of natural gas
in the functioning of vehicles,
as well as the purchase of those
fuel-based units is included in
the pacts.
Regarding finances, the
Venezuela Economic and Social
Development Bank arranged a line
of credit to the SANCOR
Cooperatives Unidas Ltd. of
Argentina, in exchange for
powdered milk and technology
from that industry.
Other agreements include
fostering technical and
scientific cooperation to
optimize agricultural
production, exchange
experiences, and give assessment
and professional training in
health.
