Visa Restrictions Eased
For Investors
In order to ease the
arrival of investors to
Costa Rica from
countries with the
"restricted visa"
categories in Costa
Rican immigration
regulations, those who
have U.S. or European
visas will be admitted
upon showing their
passport at the port of
arrival.
The move is aimed at
attracting Chinese
investors now that Costa
Rica and China have
resumed trading, but
also makes travel to
Costa Rica for Colombian
nationals.
Other countries on the
restricted visa include:
Nicaragua, United Arab
Emirates, Saudi Arabia,
India and Pakistan,
whose nationals have to
first obtain a consular
visa to travel to Costa
Rica.

“The decision is aimed
at addressing
immigration security and
promoting the arrival of
investors,” said Mario
Zamora, head of the
Dirección de Migración
(immigration service). |
