Iran and Nicaragua Strengthen Relations
Nearly 20 Iranian officials and business people arrived in Nicaragua on Tuesday, part of the strengthening of political and economic relations between both governments, an official source informed.

According to a press note signed by the coordinator of the Citizenship and Communication Council, Rosario Murillo, the delegation is headed by Iranian Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian.

During their stay in Managua until August 5, the visitors will hold meetings with officials from the government led by President Daniel Ortega and with different Nicaraguan business and economic sectors.

The exchange, says the text, takes place in the framework of the political, economic, and commercial relations between the two nations.

Nicaragua and Iran signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement during President Mahmud Ahmadineyad's visit to Nicaragua in January, a few days after Ortega's inauguration.
